Jadon Sancho Is Potentially The Real Deal

Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho recently became the youngest
player to ever score 15 goals in the Bundesliga. The achievement was
just one of many the winger has received over the last year.

Of course, he has broken into the full England national team and
looks set to stay in Gareth Southgate’s starting line-up for a good
while to come, as, at 19, he still has so much football ahead of him.
The youngster is in England’s squad to face Bulgaria and Kosovo in Euro
2020 qualifiers to be played over the next week or so.

Playing in Germany has eased the expectations

No doubt Sancho is one of the most exciting young English players to
come through to the full national team in a long time. There have been
many English youngsters who have looked set for stardom but have faded
to have mediocre careers.

If a young English player breaks into a Premier League team, suddenly
the English press overhypes them. They are the next big thing or the
next big English superstar. This does not usually end well for said
player. Some believe their own hype and agents give them poor advice.

However, Sancho has developed in Germany with a lot less pressure on
his shoulders. In fact, the youngster recently admitted that playing in
the Bundesliga ‘has taken off the pressure’ of the intense scrutiny he
would receive in the Premier League. Obviously, the British media note
the winger’s performances for BVB, but it is not the same.

The British press has for too long have overhyped young British
players to the hilt. When they fail to fulfil their potential, they then
tear them down. Sancho is better off in Germany.

Sancho is potentially the real deal

I know it sounds ironic me talking about the British press overhyping
players, only to then call said that Jadon Sancho is potentially the
real deal when it comes to developing into a superstar of the future.

However, the stats back up mine and many others opinion that Sancho
can become a superstar. The aforementioned record in the first paragraph
is impressive. The fact that he has started the new season with two
goals and three assists show he is carrying on his good form from the
last campaign.

Sancho scored 12 goals and produced 14 assists last season for BVB in
the German top-flight. Those numbers are impressive for any player in
the German top-flight, but for such a young player they are outstanding.

The youngster seems to have a strong personality too. He had the
bravery to leave Manchester City under Pep Guardiola to move to another
country in search of first-team football. The move has massively paid
off for the youngster, who seems to still be humble and working hard to
improve his game. If he continues in his current vein, then Sancho could
become player in the future.

Sancho is crucial for Dortmund’s title hopes

Last season Dortmund came close to end Bayern Munich’s long dominance
of the Bundesliga. However, a late-season collapse stopped BVB claiming
the title. They have started their campaign with wins over Augsburg and
Koln, only to suffer a shock 3-1 defeat against Union Berlin last time

Dortmund are now odds of 3/1 to win the title this season. Sancho’s form will be crucial to their chances of finally winning the Bundesliga title this season. The winger has already struck up a good understanding with former Barcelona forward Paco Alcacer.

While Dortmund’s Bundesliga campaign is on the backburner for the
international break, Sancho has another chance to prove his worth to
England. It would be a major surprise if he does not impress after such a
hot start to the campaign.

Jadon Sancho seems to have all the attributes to go on and become a
superstar and that is not overhyping the winger, he really does have
that much talent and potential.

Will Jadon Sancho fulfil his potential in the game?
