Odey & Awoniyi Among U-23 Eagles That Depart For Sudan


Former MFM striker Stephen Odey and Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi among U23 Eagles that depart for Omdurman ahead of 2020 Olympic qualifier against Sudan.

The 18 players and their officials left the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport on Tuesday afternoon for the game with coach Imama Amapakabo with mostly stars from the domestic leagues for Friday’s U23 AFCON playoff.Nigeria Football Federation to their social media to make the announcement as the team flew out to Sudan from Abuja today.

However, the reserve fixture will be played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba next Monday with the overall winners advancing to the U23 AFCON group stage in Egypt in November as the tournament proper will serve as the qualifying competition for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
